  • Rounded Box: The classic: a rectangle with rounded corners, so the hinge only works at the four bends and the long sides stay flat. Jewelry, tea, desk storage, a first project.
  • Curved Cylinder: A round or oval box where the whole wall is one even wrap. Candle gifts, pen pots, a round keepsake box.
  • Teardrop: A bulb that narrows to a soft point. Ring boxes, a single-ornament box, essential-oil gift sets.
  • Pill: Straight sides with semicircular ends, like a capsule. Glasses cases, pen boxes, watch gifts.
  • Squircle: Halfway between a square and a circle. Coasters, candy, a modern desk tray with a lid.
  • Arch: Flat base and a round top, like a doorway. Playing cards, a photo box, a tiny shrine.
  • Scalloped Round: A round box with ten soft scallops around the rim. Cookies, macarons, a vintage trinket box.

Questions about the Classic collection

How many of the Classic shapes are free?

Rounded Box and Curved Cylinder export free. The rest of the collection previews free and exports with Pro ($9 per month, $59 per year, $149 one-time), which also covers the other 93 shapes.

When should I start cutting for the season?

All year. Shoppers search for seasonal gifts four to six weeks before the day, and marketplace listings take a couple of weeks to gain traction, so finished photos should be ready before the searches start.

Can I personalise them?

Yes. Every shape carries its own lid drawing on the score layer; add a name, date or monogram in your laser software on the same layer, or turn the lid art off for a plain lid you engrave yourself. Personalised boxes sell for noticeably more than plain ones.

Which file do I need for my laser?

SVG for LightBurn, xTool Creative Space, Glowforge and Inkscape; DXF for CAD and older cutters. Both are sized 1:1 in millimetres with separate cut and score layers.
